Stopped by to visit friends in southwestern Oklahoma in 1999. No big deal, just saying hello.
A beautiful day, the kids wanted to get outside and do some exploring around buffalo rock.
They found a beautiful, young mountain boomer sunning amongst the rocks.
I thanked them for finding it and said I hadn't seen one in the wild since I was their age.
They asked me why not.
I had no good answer.
Of course they wanted to climb on the rocks. Talked their old dad and me into climbing too.
The kids helped us both feel like kids again.
A simple, superb gift.
