The first significant hail storm of the year hit here late yesterday afternoon. It probably won't be the last before fall when chokecherries, gooseberries and apples are ready for harvest.
Never one to complain of moisture-bearing weather events, I do hope damage to fruit blossoms and young fruit is slight or nonexistent. Store-bought juices, jellies and jams just don't cut it for me any longer. Having wild fruit to make my own has thoroughly spoiled me.
