Nothing like a patty melt on homemade bread with onion rings for a late lunch on a fine, spring-like mid-February afternoon. Sometimes cravings for onions overwhelm good judgment but I eat this dish only two or three times a year, so no lingering guilt. Just happy tastebuds. Besides, I'll soon be burning off winter fat at a rapid pace as spring cleaning, fence building and firewood gathering season begins within a few more days. Time to eat!
