I bought a bunch of ten fresh bananas eleven days ago during the annual spring-summer grocery shopping trip in town and just ate the last one today before it went bad. Made Banana French Toast with it for breakfast. Delicious. Our governor ordered us all to stay at home five days ago. I won't be risking another trip to town for more bananas any time soon.
Outside the skies are contrail and jet engine noise free as air travel and shipping lanes shut down. There is news of a halt to banana shipping as ports close to arriving container vessels.
Downslope the virus is spreading unabated across the nation and around the world. Will it be the last banana I ever eat in this day and age of rampant COVID-19? A small concern considering the rapidly escalating infection rate and related death toll.
